Integration: the healing journey of integrating the 7 pillars of Benedictine spirituality

“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are…”

Embarking on the Christian journey of integration and healing—walking the Way of Christ—means your world will be turned on its head. God’s ways are not our ways. God’s ways flip power and values and social status and worldly wisdom upside down. If you do this journey, expect to be uncomfortable and to lose much. Expect to be questioned and scorned. Expect to be called a fool.

And expect to heal…deeply, foundationally. Expect to know a love beyond measure, a love that does not exclude but that cries out for justice and mercy for all of creation. Period. No exceptions. This is what God chooses.
